Brr....
Brrr... winter is definitely on its way! A huge thank you to all of you who came to our Lower Heyford and Wolvercote gigs at the end of October. Cake was the common theme (apart from us!) of both gigs; it seemed to add to the general jollity, so maybe we'll bring some to all our performances from here on?!
We have two gigs before the end of the year:
7.45pm, Friday 1 December
Isis Farmhouse, Iffley, Oxford
We're delighted to be headlining this evening in aid of Amnesty International. The line-up also includes bossa nova troubadour Simon Davies, acclaimed folk harpist and singer Steph West, and the musical and comic genius that is Ben Champion.
5pm, Saturday 2 December
Nicholsons' Christmas Fair, The Park, North Aston, OX25 6HL
We're playing an hour's set at this magical Christmas fair; there'll be fine food, mulled wine, craft stalls, and Christmas trees. Nicholsons' Christmas charity this year is 'Thinking of Oscar', which supports children and their families whilst in hospital care.
Confirmed gigs for next year:
Thursday 5 April
The Holywell Music Room
We'll be supporting Scottish singer Iona Fyfe in this glorious acoustic venue. More details and ticket info at: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/418957
Saturday 5 May
Wychwood Folk Club
Another support gig; more details to follow soon.
We're also very excited to reveal that we will be launching our album early next year! We recorded it across three days at the end of the summer in the beautiful environs of Strawhouse studio with the wise and brilliant engineer Richard Neuberg. We are currently mixing the tracks and working on the cover artwork, and are planning some special launch gigs; we'll keep you posted!
Some other events you may like to know about:
Our friend and musician extraordinaire Barney Morse-Brown, aka Duotone, is about to go on tour in support of Eliza Carthy; catch him all over the country during December. He has a new album, and exquisitely beautiful it is too (Jane was honoured to play on it). More details atwww.duotonemusic.com
In addition, our friends the brilliant Xogara, with whom we've played at Wolvercote Village Hall (and much fun it's been too!) are playing at the Holywell Music Room on Friday 26 January. Put it in your diaries now!
